Telling money where to go for over a decade.

We plan to invest a lot of time and attention in your financial situation.

We respectfully ask that you consider an investment in us, but we know that in order to do that, you need to get to know us first.

Our Story

Our goal is to serve as our clients’ chief financial officer and ensure their overall financial goals are met responsibly. We do this through the combination of comprehensive financial planning, project-based or consulting on an as-needed basis, and investment management.

We strive to be the primary point of contact for all of our clients’ financial matters. As a fee-only advisor, we operate in a fiduciary role and are held to legal and ethical standards, placing client interests above our own.

Our single mission is to help our clients simplify their goals and manage their financial lives by addressing four key pain points:

  • Accessibility: We don’t believe in gatekeepers. When you need help, have questions or need to access your money or assets, you can always reach us.
  • Transparency: With many firms, costs of services tend to get buried—when you work with us, we are your fiduciary and we’re fully transparent about any costs associated with any given service. We believe in educating our clients around their finances and assets so they can make the most informed decisions.
  • Cost: Cost has been inflated for years. Traditionally it’s 1% for asset management. By using the latest technologies and cost compression, we work to reduce that cost to start at .5%. This means more money for you, not your financial consultant.
  • Flexibility: As your fiduciary, we have no selling arrangements with financial management companies or programs. This opens our services to the open market, allowing us to get the lowest cost possible. This also allows us to pivot when needed to ensure we’re maximizing your investments.

I’m a family man, as you can see. Along with my wife, Jen (an elementary schoolteacher), we have three daughters which make my life about as big an adventure as yours is. So I get it when you come to me with questions about how to plan for a secure financial future.

I started this company because I want to change the way financial services are delivered – and that’s why you don’t see a picture of me in a suit. As the founder and Chief Compliance Officer of TreMonte Financial Consultants, my goal is to bring my 17+ years of experience to the table; and while we’re sitting there, we’ll design your financial future together.

    • “Adventure” is her middle name

I am an adventure seeker. My husband and I are building a life where we vacation to explore, not just escape. In 2020, we welcomed our son Kailer “Kai” and are excited to instill the travel bug in him. We are in the growing phase of our lives, accumulating assets and working as a team toward common goals. We have regular budgeting meetings and make it a priority once a year to stop and dream together.

I’ve been with TreMonte since 2019. I am a big proponent of financial stewardship and cultivating your own financial intelligence. To me, that begins with a healthy understanding of your income and expenses + knowing exactly where your money is going. You will often hear me jabbering on about YNAB while enjoying a cup of tea.

It is my privilege to say that Traverse City is my hometown, and I am grateful to have landed back here in 2020. I have enjoyed using my diverse talents at multiple small businesses in the last few years. I’ve helped patients work towards wellness in busy medical offices, sold landscaping supplies to contractors, and even led teenagers on trips down a gorgeous northern Michigan river. While doing all that, and more, it was always my goal to make meaningful human connections, as well as accomplish the important tasks at hand. I love continuing that goal as I dig into my time at TreMonte. I am excited to contribute my eye for detail, passion for design, and heart for people to this great Northern Michigan Business.

My favorite way to spend my free time is being with the people I care about,  including my close-knit family, and some great friends. We love spending time outdoors in any way we can. If I am not outside gallivanting, you can find me cozied up indoors watching something silly, like The Office.

In addition to analyzing investments and writing on personal finance, I occasionally teach at the University of North Florida. I love to communicate financial information in a down-to-earth, easy-to-understand way. While I enjoy crunching the numbers and analyzing portfolios, I always keep a focus on what it means for clients.

Outside of the world of finance, I enjoy playing golf, walking, and eating steak! Spending time with family and friends has become more important in my life in recent years. Nothing beats a great steak surrounded by loved ones.
